In this role the Window & Door Installer-Carpenter will manage the installation of residential projects, including helping to prep the home for installation, removing old and setting new windows and doors, performing finish carpentry duties, and clean up when projects are completed. They will work both independently and with a team.

Previous Experience and Skill Requirements

At least one year experience replacing windows and doors. Must possess high level finish carpentry skills and ability to well-execute project installations. We're looking for someone with good communication skills, the ability to follow directions, and be a team player.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Window & Door Installer-Carpenter tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Setting up and cleanup of work area.
  • Following lead-safe and health authority safety guidelines.
  • Removing old and installing new windows and doors.
  • Framing and high level finish carpentry.
  • Using hand tools.
  • Being meticulous, and taking pride in your work.
  • Having a desire to learn and expand skills.

Additional Responsibilities and Requirements

  • A valid driver's license, a clean driving record and reliable transportation are required.
  • Act as a favorable representative of the company -- good customer service skills, being friendly, courteous, trustworthy, and polite are all desirable characteristics.
  • Honesty, punctuality, and attention to detail are critical traits.
  • Must follow company procedures and safety standards.
  • Must be able to be respectful in customer's homes and be mindful of their space.
  • Must be able to understand and communicate in English.

Hours/Days of Work

This is a seasonal job with the potential to convert to permanent employment; averaging 30-40 hours a week, and can grow to 40-50 hours a week during peak season. Work hours are generally Monday through Friday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM. (Dependent on projects and scheduling). Occasional Saturdays.

Job Location

Projects are all in the Portland metro area and will vary with each installation. Applicants must have reliable transportation to job sites and a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position. Due to the nature of the position nearly all of your time will be spent standing, bending, lifting and carrying items, climbing stairs and ladders.

  • Must use good judgement when carrying, lifting, and using hand tools.
  • Must be capable of lifting at least 50 pounds and occasionally work above shoulder height.
  • Must have strong grip and good balance.
  • Occasionally with need to work in small spaces.
  • Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
