Plumbing Inside Sales Representative

Trumbull Industries, Inc., is a full-line distributor of plumbing products. We have an opening in our commercial and residential plumbing products in the Youngstown, Ohio area. This position services primarily plumbing and mechanical contractors but will also service the industrial and retail markets that use these products. At Trumbull Industries, our Inside Sales Representatives are customer-focused, thrive in a fast-paced environment, are detail-oriented and have strong multitasking skills. This position is responsible for creating sales quotes, maintaining customer relations, and staying current with Trumbull Industries product offerings and our competitor products. Responsibilities will include selling plumbing fixtures, piping, valves and related products and services to Contractors, Industrial and Institutional customers. Prior experience of inside or outside sales, and blueprint reading preferred.

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for providing quotes to customers, entering and expediting customer orders, requesting quotes and placing orders with vendors and providing general customer service functions.

Job Duties :

  • Develop quotes accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare commercial plumbing fixture quotes from plumbing schedules and specifications.
  • Review open order reports on a weekly basis and expedite with vendors where appropriate.
  • Resolve problems for customers and return customer calls promptly.
  • Understand and interpret technical requirements and information for various product lines.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions and spec sheets.
  • Maintain and modify customer database as needed.
  • Follow policies and procedures to complete tasks correctly and on time.
  • Assist in job takeoffs.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, architecture or engineering or related field required.
  • Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • PC proficiency using ERP and proprietary automated computer applications is desired.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent math, verbal and written communication skills
  • Good follow up skills and persistence
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Excellent phone presence
  • Willing and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work appropriately
  • Sense of urgency and decisiveness as appropriate
  • Reacts well under the pressure of a fast-paced environment and follow through on commitments
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills.
