Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Instructional Designer, reporting to the Director of Scouting University, to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for developing effective educational programs and materials that empower our stakeholders and enhance our mission-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design methodologies, and the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible learning experiences.
As an Instructional Designer, you will design, develop, and plan application of multiple learning products (lesson plans, job aids, instructor/student guides, study guides, workbooks, eLearning modules, synchronous learning courses etc.) for delivery in multiple formats (classroom, eLearning, social, wiki, print, etc.). You will analyze learning needs collaborating with subject matter experts to provide input for course content and work with management to ensure course materials are current and relevant to training needs and customer perspective. You will have the unique opportunity to perform research to design and develop customized training programs, including the design of computer-based training programs. This position may facilitate training during the introduction of new courses. Additionally, you will be tasked with providing instruction and guidance to trainers for employees, professional scouters and managers, as well as scouting volunteers and scout leaders.
