The Helper will safely assist drivers and other employees in the collection of solid waste materials from a residential truck. Key Responsibilities include collecting solid waste/recyclable materials from customer premises and/or curbside, loading solid waste into the collection vehicle, sorting recyclables, assisting the driver in vehicle operation and safety, operating equipment to compact trash, auditing vehicle equipment, reporting customer issues, identifying and removing prohibited waste items, following safety and equipment checks, maintaining route quality standards, wearing required personal protective equipment, exhibiting professional demeanor, assisting in vehicle and warehouse cleaning, attending safety and branch meetings, and performing other duties as requested. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED desired but not required, 1-3 months related experience or training desired but not required, valid driver's license preferred but not required, and ability to meet safety sensitive function criteria. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 65 pounds regularly, pushing/moving up to 100 pounds with assistance, and working in outdoor environments with exposure to various weather and noise conditions. The role requires working on routes away from the branch continuously throughout the day and occasionally working in high precarious places and motor vehicle traffic conditions.
