Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Designer to join our team. This role is responsible for creating and developing fire alarm system designs that meet project specifications, local codes, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with clients, engineers, and project teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design fire alarm systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects

  • Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and code requirements

  • Prepare detailed design documents, drawings, and submittals using CAD or related software

  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure design accuracy

  • Ensure all designs comply with NFPA standards, local codes, and client requirements

  • Provide technical support to installation teams during construction and commissioning

  • Assist with estimating and bill of materials preparation for fire alarm projects

  • Review and update designs as needed for project changes or addendums

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in fire alarm design or related field

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software

  • Knowledge of NFPA codes, IBC, IFC, and local fire codes

  • NICET Level II or higher certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
