Job Description

Summary

Are you ready to hit the ground running and be a vital part of the overall performance of the company? We are seeking a Training Specialist to analyze, design, develop and deliver training programs and solutions of all delivery mediums that enhance the competencies of individual employees that will boost workplace performance and align with our company’s core values. Perform various administrative tasks in support and measurement of the training life cycle, training process, and documentation.

Duties

Planning/Analysis:

  • Assist with planning/scheduling all training initiatives
  • Work closely and effectively with Subject Matter Experts (SME) and other stakeholders for gathering accurate information in preparation for service/product training.
  • Conduct audience and task analysis to determine skills and objectives to be taught.
  • Confer with management and various departments to gain knowledge of work situation requiring training for employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies.
  • Perform gap analysis to determine additional training needs.

Design:

  • Develop detailed design documents and/or design layouts for classroom and online training projects/initiatives.
  • Able to storyboard a training project to assist with building eLearning modules.
  • Understand instructional design and user experience when developing content for training.
  • LMS administration skills to be able to design learning plans, load content, and manage assignments

Development/Documentation:

  • Create training programs that include necessary and appropriate adult learning methodologies.
  • Formulates teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
  • Create training materials to assist in delivery/facilitation such as facilitator guides, participant workbooks, teaching aids, skill checks, role-plays, scenarios, multimedia visual aids, eLearning modules, etc.
  • Create detailed scripts and interactive content for online courses.
  • Maintain and update training materials and trainee tools on a continual basis.

Classroom Delivery/Facilitation:

  • Schedule classes with appropriate parties based on classroom and equipment availability.
  • Deliver effective classroom training or virtual training as required and ensure that all participants are having the best possible learning experience.
  • Assess and communicate training participants’ strengths/weaknesses in specific skills and behaviors.
  • Recommend developmental plans for deficient participants.

Evaluation:

  • Validate and evaluate training programs and/or job performance products.
  • Able to utilize Microsoft products to manipulate training data to develop benchmarks to gauge/drive future performance.
  • Effectively utilize LMS reporting to deliver reports and dashboards on training classes or initiatives.
  • Measure effectiveness of training programs (i.e., meeting with participant managers as follow up upon completion of training; proactively thinking about and making suggestions on how to improve the training experience as a whole.)
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the training industry including presentation aids, equipment, presentation techniques, adult learning methodology, and related topics.
  • May perform other duties as required.

  • Willingness and ability to be flexible and take on new assignments or learn about new subject areas with short notice.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Able to multi-task and work multiple projects at the same time.
  • Proven track record of, and ability to maintain confidential information.

Education & Experience

  • Experience with instructional design theory and learning principles.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years’ previous experience as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or related position.
  • Technical expertise to assist with troubleshooting Virtual training connection issues, as well as facilitating technical subject matter.

Working Environment

  • Onsite
  • Able to work flexible hours, including working early or late.
