Position Overview:

We are seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Porter to join our team at Max's Best Ice Cream. This essential role focuses on maintaining the overall cleanliness and efficiency of our shop while supporting both guests and staff. The Porter will be responsible for dining area cleanliness and upkeep, restroom maintenance, dishwashing, stocking supplies, and assisting with back-of-house cleanliness. Key Responsibilities

Dining Room and Guest Support

• Clear and sanitize dining area and counter quickly to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.

• Sweep and mop floors in the dining area regularly.

• Restock service stations with napkins, utensils, condiments, and other necessary items.

• Serve water to guests seated in the dining area.

• Assist guests with napkin, utensil, and condiment needs as appropriate.

• Regularly check and change all trash receptacles in the dining room.

Bathroom and Facility Maintenance

• Regularly check and clean restrooms to ensure cleanliness and proper stock of supplies (e.g., soap, paper towels, toilet paper). Clean and sanitize restroom fixtures, mirrors, and floors as needed.

• Report any maintenance or supply issues to management promptly.

Dishwashing and Back-of-House Cleanliness

• Clean glassware, plate ware, and utensils using a three-compartment sink and dishwashing machine. Ensure all items are thoroughly sanitized, spotless, and properly dried before storage.

• Organize and return cleaned items to their designated storage areas.

• Maintain cleanliness in the back-of-house areas, including floors, trash receptacles, counters, and storage spaces.

• Properly dispose of trash in dumpsters and recycling, ensuring waste areas remain clean and organized.

• Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment and other back-of-house surfaces as needed.

• Prepare dirty floor mats and linens for scheduled cleaning service pickups.

Supportive Tasks

• Keep server stations stocked with necessary supplies, including napkins, utensils, plates, and cups.

• Assist the kitchen or counter team with minor prep or organization tasks as needed.

• Proactively identify areas that require cleaning or restocking to enhance the customer and staff experience.

• Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies, notifying management of any restocking needs.

Qualifications and Skills

• Physical Requirements : Ability to stand, bend, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly during shifts.

• Strong attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.

• Previous experience in dishwashing, bussing, or front-of-house cleaning is a plus but not required.

• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
