Overview

We are a Values based environmental company seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a desire to improve the environment, be self motivated and can problem solve. This role requires a strong commitment to our mission to divert foodscraps from landfills and takes pride in a job well done.

5 years of truck driving experience preferred, with some packer truck experience required

Ability to move 32 gallon rolling carts up to 150-200lbs

Ability to operate calmly and efficiently under pressure

80% of work time spent driving, 20% of work time spent loading bins and talking to dock workers/business owners

Duties

• Operate a 16 yd cab over packer truck, 26K GVW with hydraulic lift arm and winch.
• Collect foodscraps from businesses and schools in the Capital District and deposit them at the Bethlehem Compost Facility before closing at 4pm. Starting time is generally around 9-9:30am.
• Wash out truck at the end of each day and refuel for the next day.
• Briefly perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety of vehicle.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.

Skills

• Have knowledge of Android based GPS mapping apps.
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Ability to maneuver truck in tight collection areas.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise during transport.
• Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour, $25 per hour during first few training shifts

Expected hours: 10 – 16 per week
