POSITION GOAL

This position will, with the CFO, ensure that the agency's policies and procedures related to fiscal operations are followed to ensure that adequate and correct financial data is maintained. This position also includes duties related to purchasing, payables, receivables, payroll, cash disbursements, posting and internal and external financial reporting procedures.

 

SCHEDULE AND WAGE

Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; $26.22 - $32.44 hourly depending upon education and experience.

*This position is eligible for a $1200 retention incentive after successfully completing 180 days of employment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Prepare external reports for reimbursement of funds based on specific funder requirements.


  2. Produces and sends out accounts receivable invoices for reimbursement.


  3. Help track non-equipment inventory.


  4. Maintain Fixed Assets including tracking, depreciation, and recording capital transactions


  5. Prepare month end entries and assist in the closing of the books monthly


  6. Assist with preparation of agency and various other audits


  7. Record cash daily to general ledger along with periodic drawing of cash from funders


  8. Cost out agency insurance and ensure its coded properly to various agency accounts


  9. Assist with various Bank Reconciliations


  10. Back up on issuing of PO’s and credit card authorizations


  11. Checks documents for errors in accounting classification/mathematics unit prices/total/etc., and completeness or presence of supporting documents.


  12. Code transactions according to a chart of accounts with 80+ funds


  13. Checks accounts for accuracy of entries/posting/totals/balances.


  14. Establish/maintains/verifies necessary budget/fiscal/accounting records relating to the receipt and disbursement of funds.


  15. Prepare and issues reports to reflect the financial condition of the various funds.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Four-year degree in accounting or 1 year of experience in private or public accounting - experience in fund accounting preferred.

OR

AA or related degree and 3 years of experience in private or public accounting - experience in fund accounting preferred.

OR

A suitable combination of education and experience.

AND

Experience in all aspects of payroll, accounting and preparation of financial statements and all related reports.
