Job Description
Move for Hunger is a national nonprofit organization that mobilizes transportation networks to deliver excess food to communities in need. Operating in a remote work environment, Move For Hunger strives to create a culture of diverse, passionate, growth-minded professionals who work collaboratively and creatively to tackle the issues of hunger and food waste in the US. Our team is fun, innovative, goal-oriented, and driven to put more meals on the table for those in need.
Founded in 2009, Move For Hunger has partnered with 1,200+ moving companies nationwide to encourage their customers to donate their food when they move. Over the past few years, we have seen rapid expansion within the relocation and multifamily apartment industries - with over 600,000 apartment units working with us. In addition to rescuing food during move-out, Move for Hunger organizes hundreds of food drives, fundraisers, and corporate employee engagement events. We’ve recently expanded our reach to farmers, distributors, CPG, and logistics companies in an effort to recover even more food donations in bulk. Since its founding, our team of 20+ has delivered more than 60 million pounds of food to those in need - enough to provide more than 50 million meals.
About The Role
The Director of Marketing is a strategic leader and team builder who drives Move For Hunger’s multi-channel marketing efforts to grow the brand, strengthen donor and partner engagement, and maximize digital performance. This position requires a deep understanding of email platforms and advanced marketing strategies to optimize demand generation, lead nurturing, and analytics. Rather than producing every piece of content, the Director focuses on leading a high-performing team that brings our mission to life—online and beyond. The team includes a Graphic Designer, a Digital Marketing Strategist (responsible for the technical execution of Pardot emails), a Content/Social Media Manager, a part-time Web Developer, and a contracted specialist managing AdWords and social advertising.
Reporting to the executive team, the Director of Marketing leads a nimble marketing team, and owns key performance systems and marketing tools. They oversee integrated marketing strategy, campaign planning, performance tracking, and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure consistent, compelling messaging that supports fundraising, partnership, and program goals.
Our ideal candidate is someone with a proven track record in marketing leadership, likes to stay knowledgeable about current trends and strategies, has an ambitious attitude, and thrives in a creative and fast-paced environment. We’re looking for someone to grow with our organization and help us continue to build an innovative solution to hunger and food waste.
