Westchester Country Club also has two large banquet rooms, conference facilities, member apartments, and guest accommodations. About This Opportunity We are seeking a seasonal Aquatics Director to join our Beach Club Aquatics team. The Aquatics Director is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day operations of the Beach Club Aquatics Department including safe pool and beach operations, staff supervision, program development, strategic planning and budget control, scheduling while complying with the highest safety standards and practices. This position will report to the Beach Club Manager / Operations Director. What You'll Do The Aquatics Director will complete all tasks and assignments outlined as follows: Provide oversight and guidance for Aquatics Department as a whole, including Aquatics Supervisors, Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, Camp swim instruction, Swim Coach, Sailing and Boat Attendants, Beach Attendants Manage day-to-day Aquatics Department operations, assuring all teams are functioning as needed and performing all necessary tasks in accordance with expectations Maintain awareness of all Club policies and assure all Aquatics staff are in compliance with said policies Assure the safe operation, cleanliness, and maintenance of (2) outdoor pools, (2) beachfronts, pool mechanicals and watercraft activities Oversee the hiring and training of Aquatics staff Oversee scheduling of all Aquatics staff to assure adequate coverage across all functional teams Act as point of contact for all Aquatics Department matters of leadership as well as Members and Guests Provide thorough, hands-on supervision of Aquatics staff, assuring all safety policies are adhered to Assist Director of Club Operations – Beach Club with budget monitoring and maintenance Be prepared to perform swim instruction and lifeguarding as necessary The above list of essential job functions describes the general nature and level of work being performed in this job. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, and indeed additional responsibilities may be assigned, as required, by management What You'll Need Minimum of 3 years Aquatics experience in a supervisory capacity CPR/AED Certified for Professional Rescuer Certified Pool Operator (CPO) License WSI (American Red Cross) or comparable certification Current Lifeguard Certification or Lifeguard Instructor Certification First Aid Certified Waterfront Certification Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills Physical mobility to properly use aquatic equipment and to respond to critical incidents Physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation Fiscal management skills, professional demeanor and the ability to work well with Members/Guests as well as staff Ability to certify CPR & Lifeguards a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel a plus Must be able to communicate and interact professionally with Members, Guests and employees Must have excellent English language skills both written and verbal Frequent standing for extended periods of time Frequent walking to monitor Aquatics activity across Beach Club property
