Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Process Improvement Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will spearhead operational excellence initiatives by identifying inefficiencies, streamlining workflows, and implementing data-driven process improvements across client organizations. You'll apply advanced analytical methodologies and industry best practices to systematically eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and enhance quality metrics. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Lean Six Sigma, process reengineering, and change management, along with exceptional critical thinking skills to translate process optimization into measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leadership teams to identify business challenges and growth opportunities
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to develop evidence-based recommendations
  • Design and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
  • Lead end-to-end process mapping and value stream analysis to identify bottlenecks and waste
  • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure process effectiveness
  • Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and kaizen events with cross-functional teams
  • Create detailed process documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Apply root cause analysis techniques to solve complex operational problems
  • Quantify and track financial benefits of process improvement initiatives
  • Lead client engagements from initial scoping through execution and evaluation
  • Develop strategic frameworks and roadmaps to guide business transformation
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations to stakeholders at all levels
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to practice development
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to provide innovative solutions

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in management consulting, business strategy, or related fields
  • Demonstrated expertise in analytics, with proficiency in data modeling and visualization tools
  • Strong background in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with business process reengineering and organizational change management
  • Proven success in delivering measurable process improvements with quantifiable ROI
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a structured, analytical approach
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to influence and build credibility with C-suite executives

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel)
  • Experience with process mapping and workflow optimization tools (Visio, Lucidchart, iGrafx)
  • Knowledge of workflow automation and RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technologies
  • Experience with quality management systems and compliance frameworks
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
  • Expertise in change management frameworks (ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step)
  • Experience using data visualization to communicate process metrics and KPIs

Work Location

This position requires onsite presence at client locations and/or our San Francisco office up to 2 days per week. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the San Francisco Bay Area. This position is hybrid (partial remote/partial onsite) and is not eligible for full remote work.

Compensation

As required by California law, the base salary range for this position in San Francisco is $105,000 to $145,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
