The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Chief Engineer . The Chief Engineer is responsible for the management, supervision, and professional development of all building engineering personnel.

Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

• Daily checks with building engineers and technicians
• Preparing weekly reports
• Reviewing timesheets and time exceptions
• Managing overtime and PTO
• Screening, hiring, supervising, and coordinating training for engineering staff
• Providing technical support, job delegation, and project management to the engineering team
• Reducing operating expenses while maintaining service quality
• Generating and executing budgets
• Creating scope for RFA/RFP processes
• Managing projects and ensuring seamless customer impact
• Ensuring safety guidelines are followed
• Providing timely updates to the client
• Assisting with construction projects and reviewing drawings for standards compliance
• Collaborating with general contractors on impacts to customers, impairments, warranty work, etc.
• Overseeing commissioning of new equipment
• Managing vendor contracts
• Monitoring energy efficiency
• Assisting with SOP development
• Ensuring OSHA compliance
• Developing and meeting team development goals
• Performing other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

• At least five years of recent experience in managing and supervising building mechanical operations and maintenance for high-rise buildings
• Arizona Refrigeration and/or Air Conditioning Operators License and Universal Refrigerant Certification

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Federal government experience
• High-rise office building experience
