The Boys & Girls Clubs of Newburgh & Poughkeepsie seek one full time Athletic Director to oversee athletic activities in Newburgh and Poughkeepsie.
The Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a broad range of athletic activities within the agency.
The Program Director will: Plan and oversee the administration of athletic programs and activities. Oversee the provision of day-to-day athletic activities in accordance with established standards and goals. Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of athletic activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop their skills. Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of members. Establish and maintain athletic programs that provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for all participants, staff members and families, Ensure that staff understand and effectively implement standards of athletic programs. Ensure athletic activities respond to member needs and address their gender, age, ability and cultural diversity. Monitor athletic programs and activity expenditures within approved budget. Ensure athletic programs fundraise to support operations and participant activities. Be responsible for the recruitment, registration and orientation of members and their families to participate in athletic activities. Monitor program attendance to promote retention and ensure programs operate at capacity. Work with Human Resources to recruit, hire, and train program staff to meet the requirements of their position and the standards of the organization. · Post daily schedules, announce upcoming department events, and provide marketing department with timely information on relevant program activities and events. Be required to travel to and attend professional development conferences and athletic events and may be required to drive Club van.
