Description Location: Working on-site in Japan ECC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a ground-up construction project for a seven-story hotel in Japan. This project is anticipated to start in February or March 2025 within the country and is expected to span approximately 2.5 years. In this position, you will: Assist Project Manager in planning and coordinating activities to ensure project goals are achieved within the prescribed time frame and budget. Review project proposals to determine timelines, funding, staffing, and resource allocation. Establish work plans and staffing for each project phase, and coordinate recruitment or assignment of personnel. Direct and coordinate project personnel activities to ensure progress on schedule and within budget. Review status reports and modify schedules or plans as needed. Prepare project reports for management and clients. Consult with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve issues. Develop and maintain baseline schedules as per Regional Project Control Manager's approval. Perform schedule updates and develop as-built schedules. Coordinate and prepare 3-week look-ahead schedules and document physical percent complete. Manage long lead materials tracking and schedule updates. Prepare schedule projections and conduct time impact analyses. Generate critical path and variance analysis reports. Coordinate with Project Accountant to develop WBS dictionary and manage financial forecasts and cost projections. Review subcontractor invoices prior to approval and payment processing. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Strong report writing and communication skills. Ability to present information effectively and respond to diverse audiences. Problem-solving skills, including data collection and analysis. Proven ability to implement complex programs. Negotiation skills and persuasiveness. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and Windows. 40-hour HAZWOPER, 8-hour supervisory, and annual refresher training in HAZWOPER. Willingness to work on-site with periodic travel. 2-5 years of construction engineering experience. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, science, or related field, or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with international projects. Track record in ground-up, multi-story construction. Experience managing projects over $10 million. ECC's targeted base salary range is $60,000 to $80,000 annually, with actual salary influenced by various factors. Benefits Medical, dental, prescription, and vision insurance.
